Hello, I'm Kendra Werst, a visual resources professional + librarian living in Western Massachusetts. I am currently the Assistant Visual Resources Curator at Williams College, a private liberal arts college. I provide technical support for digital teaching projects developed in collaboration with art faculty and VRC colleagues. I also identify images for inclusion in the digital collection fulfilling current faculty requests and anticipating future needs.
Before joining the Art Department staff at Williams, I worked as a Collections Associate for the Kinsey Institute’s Library and Special Collections in Bloomington, Indiana. I was responsible for managing the Institute’s art, object, and artifact collection as well as the online image collection. I also assisted the Visual Literacy and Image Technologies Librarian at Indiana University’s Fine Arts Library.
I graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with a Master's degree in Library Science, specializing in Art Librarianship/Visual Resources and Digital Collections. Prior to IU, I received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture and Art History from the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri.
